Equipment Needed
- Standard deck of cards
- Drinks
Setup
Grab a standard deck of 52 cards and shuffle it thoroughly. Place the deck face down in the center of the table where everyone can reach. Make sure everyone has a drink ready, and pick someone to start the first draw at random.
How to Play Suicide King
- Shuffle deck face down
- Take turns drawing cards
- Number cards = safe
- Face cards = drink 1
- Any King = drink 2
- King of Hearts = Suicide King = chug
- Suicide King drawer starts next round
- Draws continue until King found
Tips & Strategies
Try to count how many Kings have been drawn; if three are already out, the next King is guaranteed to end the round. Watch people's reactions after each draw; if someone looks too calm, they might have just pulled a number card. If you're the last one to draw in a round, the odds of pulling the Suicide King are much higher, brace yourself and have your drink ready. Shuffle carefully between rounds, especially if players are trying to game the deck order.
Variations
Instead of chugging when the Suicide King is drawn, the drawer is eliminated from the game. Play continues until one player is left.: Raise the stakes by making all Kings worth a chug, not just the King of Hearts.: If you draw a 2, you're safe from drinking for the rest of that round, even if the Suicide King is drawn.
